I am going to chose a pair of godparent for each of my triplets!

But does the godparent have to be a legal age? I really want to

pick my 14 year old neighbor (she loves kids) to be the godparent of my one girl. And my brother-in-law for the other parent.

Can I do that?

  1. I became a god parent when i was 16.. i think it depends on what your church says and your religion back ground.. if she can't become a godparent at first she will prolly stand as a Christan witness until she makes her conformation into the church. By the way i love your names. Good Luck.

  2. It is a free place to make that choice.  But you must think about what a god parent is.  Is this someone who will look after that child if something happens to you.  Or is it merely at this point in your life your neighbour seems to be the closest to her.  I would think about chosing a family member, someone who will remain in your child's life for a long time.  A 14 yr old neighbour will be gone in 4 yrs and who knows.  Just think about it for your child and who will she look up to in later years.

  3. You'll have to ask the church what their rules are.

  4. You can do whatever you want, I became a godparent at 16 years old and I love every minute of it...
