Besides these two sure points, the Malaysian team will rely heavily on Goh Liu – Peng Soon or the Women’s Doubles pair of Wong Pei Tty – Chin Eei h*i.
Peng Soon is very excited as he is going to play his first match in this prestigious mixed team championship.
Speaking to reporters, Soon said, “I am very excited to be playing in my first ever Sudirman Cup. My confidence is high after we reached the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold mixed doubles final earlier this month. I hope to continue my good form in Qingdao.”
While talking about his match conditions in this event, he added, “I know it won’t be easy to win all my matches as the competition will be quite keen. We have strong mixed doubles pairs from Russia and Indonesia in our group. But Liu Ying and I are ready to prove that we should be the number one mixed doubles pair in the country.”
Goh Liu – Peng Soon, who are currently ranked at 17th position in the Mixed Doubles world rankings, are expected to play against the World Number 23 couple of Valeria Sorokina – Alexandr Nikolaenko of Russia.
