Goh V Shem confident to shine at the Thomas Cup Qualifying Round – Badminton news
Malaysia’s Men’s Doubles talented shuttler, Goh V Shem, is confident to prove his selection right by performing well in the Thomas Cup Qualifying Round, which will take place from February 13-19 in Macau.
V Shem will make his first appearance in the qualifying matches of Thomas Cup and is ready to shine in this important team event tournament.
The 22-year-old V Shem wants to deliver his best performance and help Malaysia to qualify for the Thomas Cup Finals, which will take place in Wuhan, China, in the last week of May.
The passionate V Shem with his partner Lim Khim Wah will be the second seeded shuttlers of Malaysia who are currently ranked at number 33 in Men’s Doubles world standings.
V Shem and Khim Wah are number two in Malaysia after the top seeds Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong, who are currently placed at number six in the Men’s Doubles world placements.
V Shem, who is known for his spirited play in the court, said that confidence is the main key to achieve good results. While talking about his participation in the Thomas Cup, the shuttler said that it is an honour for him to represent his country.
He said, “It is an honour to represent Malaysia in the Thomas Cup even if it is just the qualifying tournament.”
He also said that it is the right time for both shuttlers to prove their worth and make their presence felt to the world of badminton. He also expressed that many people think that they are not strong enough, but he is determined to prove them wrong.
He said, “This is the time for us to prove ourselves. I’m positive we can help Malaysia qualify for the Finals. Khim Wah and I must exude confidence and stay consistent.”
He further added, “Many think our second doubles is weak but I disagree. We can play with several different combinations and I’m confident we can pull off some surprises and deliver the goods.”
The young shuttlers, V Shem and Khim Wah, are determined to help their team to win the qualifying matches and secure a place in the Thomas Cup Finals, which is the most prestigious team event championship in the arena of badminton.
