Goh V Shem forms a fruitful partnership with Ee Yi Teo in 2012 Malaysia International Challenge
It seems joining hands with Ee Yi Teo worked for the Men’s Doubles expert Goh V Shem as both partners claimed the crown in Maybank Malaysia International Challenge on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
Earlier, V Shem played alongside Lim Khim Wah and the duo managed to hold the 31st spot in the World ranking but team officials decided to try them with new partners and this move yielded good result.
The scratch pair of V Shem-Yi Teo overwhelmed the compatriot duo Shen Low Juan-Tan Yip Jiun with an impressive margin of 21-15 and 21-12.
This 23-minute encounter, which was a title match of this International Challenge, took place in Kuching as both teams earned a great deal of admiration for putting up a commendable show of skills.
V Shem and Yi Teo laid the foundation of their supremacy straight-away in the beginning of first set and maintained that upper hand all the way to the final moments.
They played cautiously in the establishing rallies of opening game and this approach kept them at the lower end until 5-7 total.
However, they did not lose their nerve and counter-balanced the situation before the announcement of a one-minute break.
They tipped the scale in their favour with six uninterrupted points and piled up a respectable figure of 11-7.
The newly formed Malaysian team showed superb coordination in later part of the game and swept the table with a huge difference.
V Shem and Yi Teo mounted pressure with 17-10 margin and then made the best out of this psychological edge to place a winning score of 21-15.
Next segment of this showdown saw them playing with even more precision and sealing a splendid straight-set victory.
This time they did not repeat previous mistakes and established an unassailable lead immediately in the beginning.
They did not lose focus at any stage and outclassed Low Juan-Yip Jiun in all departments of the game.
The first half of the set ended with V Shem-Yi Teo having a clear edge with 11-4 total. They showed consistency in their performance and locked the honour with a staggering knock of 21-12.
With such a remarkable win, both Malaysian campaigners earned great deal of respect and they are in high spirits to make a strong impact in the arena.
