  1. Learn Spanish

  2. Where are you going to?

We had a beach holiday in Cozumel last year and I was bitten to death by sand flies. I didn't get much advice whilst I was there but it's one to research.

Also, do you scuba dive? If not and you're on the Caribbean side, learn, it's awesome - turtles on nearly every dive. If you do then I can seriously recommend the cenotes, check out this YouTube video

even if you don't dive they are superb places to swim - absolutely beautiful!

  3. Don't drink the water.

While in the city travel by bus and/or subway. It's cheaper

Don't touch your face after touching something in the subway station.

Learn enough Spanish to get you by.

If you're driving, when stopping at a gas station a gas attendant will probably be there to pump your gas. Although this has only happened to my family once, just make sure they reset the meter before they begin pumping.

Don't wear your best outfits. If you go shopping at a market, vendors will think you have plenty of money to spend and they will jack up the prices on you.

Try the tacos al pastor if you haven't. They're my favorite.

Hope you have a great trip.

  4. Get A Job There

  5. Enjoy it, have fun and don't make any fool thing.

  6. Make sure where you are going because if you don't they can rob you

and well , advices, just have fun , meet mexicans , buy a lot of souvenirs, if you can travel do it , learn some words in spanish , drink tequila and tepache , dont be out  very late , some zones of the cities are kinda dangerous , but not all , what else , make friends in mexico , eat , tortillas, chilaquiles, chiles rellenos,mole,pozole,flautas,enchiladas,... de carne asada, tacos al pastor, frijoles a la charra, cabrito, machacado, gorditas de harina, cortadillo ,caldo tlalpeño , and a lot of things you 'll love here! and yes bring some suncream , and light clothes, camara , video camara, mexican people will always have a smile for you  ,

enjoy your trip to mexico !

    and welcome home!

    greetings from mexico !

  8. If you are not used to the climate DRINK THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT OF WATER. You can get dehydrated very quickly and the first signs are swollen knees and or ankles.

By the way I have been chilling the tap water in Acapulco and know a guy that did that for twelve years with no problem.

Avoid the tap water if you can it is not all "Agua Potable"

    Sunscreen

If you are on a bus or driving pick some Imodium just in case

  9. dont drink the water.
