Question:

Going Back to school after being homeschooled?

I am in the 8th grade and was homeschooled for two quarters due to health reasons. I am supposed to go back for 4th quarter and I am really nervous. I know I will get to see old friends and stuff, but what about people asking where I was, people staring or whispering, being able to be in class while not feeling well, and just all around nervousness. Any suggestions from people who have gone through this type of thing before??

  1. If I were you I would make the best of it when you go back to school. Tell your friends how cool it was to get a break from getting up early and sooo much homework. Tell them how you don't even have to get dressed in the mornings. Just make it a positive thing instead of a weird thing because in reality people are jealous that you didn't have to come to school!

Also, when they ask why if you don't want to tell them the real reason just let them know that you were trying it out, and it was really cool and different but you missed your friends and wanted to come back to school.

Good luck! Everything will be fine..it's not as bad as you think.

  2. this is my first yera being homeschooled and i have to go back next year to

im going to a new school but i feel your pain

you should just ignore until next year

dont make a spectacle of yourself

    good luck

  3. The best way to handle this situation is with honesty.  You were ill. Tell people that.  It's not as though you were in jail.  The best way to handle staring is to look the person straight in the eye and say, "Do you have a question?"

You'll be ok.  A few days after you return, you'll be old news.

    Hang in there.  Be well.

  4. just keep your head up. It doesn't matter what people think or say. you are always going to have those few people that try and make you mad or hurt. if you don't let it bother you than their task of hurting you will be defeated.
