Has anyone ever had their hair dyed blonde at the hairdressers? What do they do, how long does it generally take and were you happy with the results? Thank you!

  1. I only dye my hair at home, hairdressers charge too much for an average working person like me to pay for a colour, can just about afford a cut and blow every 8 weeks.

  2. no i havent

  3. loved the results and it was kinda pricey (85 bucks )

but it was worth it.. took about 1 hour maybe 1 hour and a half max..

  4. I haven't gotten my hair dyed, but my friend has. They just put the dye on your hair and cover it with tin foil. they wait for a while and i guess it chemically goes into your hair. They where really happy with the results. And if anything wrong happens just ask to get style it a little. And if your not sure before you get it just ask how long it lasts, or how long YOU want it to last, hope it all works out!!!!

  5. My sister trained as a hairdresser & she did mine - so not quite - but she used 2 colours and alternated strands of my existing colour (I was once very, very blonde but age has turned me into white & mouse) with each of the colours.

She tested it after 10, 20 & 30 minutes then washed it out.

She could have left it a little longer the first time so she repeated with the lighter colour about 4 weeks later to bring me back to my once natural colour.

  6. Yes. They used some kind of special bleach formula stuff XD. It took about 1 & half hr-2hrs (my hair is really long) I was very happy.

  7. Yes

It takes a couple of hours depending on the darkness of your natural hair

They should section it and start on the length of hair before going near your roots (OR HOT ZONE) BODY HEAT MAKES THE BLEACH LIGHTEN FASTER SO THE HAIR CLOSE TO THE SCALP WILL LIGHTEN FIRST. you can lift several shades so watch closely. If it comes out too yellow or orange have a toner ready to mute it I found one that is neutral or ashy will counteract the bassiness of the yellow or orange. Good luck and only go to a stylist that specializes in haircoloring to get the best results

  8. I have never had my hair dyed blond, but I did go with my friend once to get her hair dyed. It took at least 2 hours but she was happy with the results. It probably depends more on the hair dresser as to how long it will take and how the results will be. Good luck.

  9. well it all depends on what is your haircolor right now, if it is dark it might take a couple of sessions to get the right effect. If it is black, i would say it would take 3 sessions. The lighter your hair is the less it is going to take. It also depends what kind of blond you want to be, bleach blond or natural blond. Bleach blond requires bleaching out your natural hair color, not always good for the hair. I recommend going to good salon, check if they have references online

  10. well if your considering it then itll go the same as what they tell you! ask them for their opion and see what they think! i dyed my hair red but i did itat home and im really happy with it!! all you really need is a good brand like l'oreal or clairol and stuff like that!! they only cost about £3-£7! its soo much cheaper and its really worth it!!

  11. depends on how dark your hair is now! they use peroxide.

  12. I have to see my clients hair fist before I decide what needs to be done. These are some questions to consider...Have you recently dyed your hair a dark color-if yes...well the they will have to strip your hair of the color which might take a few processes and it will damage it as well which you might want a couple of inches trimmed off after that and it will be pretty pricey...your best bet is to get all over highlights(thin streaks-less damaging) and have it toned every time and do that every 8 weeks until you are satisfied with it. always use leave-in conditioners and protein treatments(offered at most salons). It's a slow process but it comes out better and looking more natural. good luck!

  13. Yes I have had my hair everything from dark blackish brown to platinum blonde.  They use a powder mix that is bleach they mix with some sort of solution.  I depends on your previous hair color of how long it takes.  Everyone hair lifts color differently.  The only bad thing is it is very drying on your hair to go blonde.  Use a good shampoo & conditioner for colored hair.

  14. If you are not naturally blonde, never dye your hair blonde...it won't match your arm hair and you will look ridiculous.
