  1. Don't worry about it....one big volcano like Kracatoa will put us in an mini ice age anyway and it's overdue.   That pretty much eliminates global warming!   It happened in 1888 and there was no summer at all.

  2. One of the easiest things is to change out your light bulbs to cfl's. It saves tons of energy, and it saves you money too. Recycling is another easy way to be green. When you have errands to run, try to make a plan so as to get it all done in one trip, to save all kinds of smaller trips throughout the day. This will cut down on pollution, plus save fuel, which will save you money. Another little easy thing is just switching up some of your cleaning products for natural ones...it's way cheaper and it's healthy for you and the planet. I use baking soda and vinegar, and things like that for cleaning. A fun thing that we do is buy toothbrushes made from recycled yogurt containers. They don't cost really any  more than any other toothbrush, plus when it's time for a new one, you just send your old one back in a postage paid envelope and they will be recycled into things like park benches. Cool! "Going green" really doesn't have to be hard at all. Just start small and make a few changes here and there, and it will all start adding up. And the cool thing is is that it will save you money too! Hope some of these ideas help. I could probably share lots more, but I have a crying baby to tend to. :) Good luck and have fun!

  3. My favorite green tip is to BYOB or bring your own bag! Check out reusablebags.com  (retailmenot.com. lists some coupon codes for that site and others) Bringing your own bag to the grocery store is not only great for our environment but some stores even offer you a credit of 5 cents or so for each bag of your own you use. Some more tips....

      - Check to make sure your tires are properly inflated and you will actually use less gas then if they are under inflated!

      - People grow up learning that you need harsh chemicals like comet to clean but try baking soda, it works!

      - Replace your old light bulbs with the energy efficient kind.

      - Club soda works for cleaning windows, really!

      - A plugged in appliance that is turned off still sucks out energy, so either unplug it when not in use or use a power strip that you can turn on and off.

      - Visit earth911.org to find out some info on recycling

      - Never leave your car idling when you don't have to because the emissions from this are even worse then normal driving emissions.

      - NO MORE PLASTIC BOTTLES. Try getting a reusable water bottle and refilling it at home. The best bottles I've found are by SIGG made of aluminum so there's no chemicals leeched into your water like plastic might do. (you can find these bottles at reusablebags.com as well)

  4. Change is never an easy thing darling.

I wish I could be green and reduce, reuse and recycle everyday but it's not as easy as it looks.

Saying that though I have two kids so I pretty much do anything for an easy life.

I will recycle alot more though within the nest few months because our enviroment is one of the most important things about the world.

  5. if you use airconditioning or heating in your home, check for leaks where the air might be seeping out and causing your machines to work harder to moderate the temperatures.

make sure your water heaters are wrapped with insulation to keep the temperature hot for a longer period of time.

concentrate on the appliances that generate heat (stove, oven, iron, water pot, etc) to make sure your energy consumption is smart and green.

  6. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! i try to do my part by recycling whatever i can, i also burn all our papers, toilet paper to reduce garbage. i use my 'green bin' for baby diapers which emptied by the town with recycling every week, i started a compost, i buy mostly all organic food, i buy all natural personal care items for myself husband and baby, i bring my own reusable bags to the grocery store (there much easier to carry, wont break, and eliminates the amount of plastic in our city dumps) i buy 100% recycled eco-friendly toilet paper / papers towels (it makes me feel a bit better knowing it's not made from trees) i also use eco friendly dishwasher soap/laundry soap. I clean the house with Vinigar and baking soada everything from the kitchen to the bathroom, all the floors, and windows! i unplug all my appliances when there not in use (cell phone charger, video games things like that), and when i need to replace my appliances i plan to buy energy star ones
