  1. Go to wecansolveit.org  it's a start

    and allot of good answers!!

  2. I have some info on EcoSense products which are non-toxic and safe for the environment. Email me if you've like the info.

  3. There are many options you have to get involved in environmental efforts.

You can read about starting a recycling program here:

    http://www.greenstudentu.com/Programs.as...

You can find a list of green resources here:

    http://www.greenstudentu.com/resources.a...

    Hope this helps!

  4. There are plenty of little ways you can go green that pile up.  Many use energy-saving light bulbs(they're more expensive but brighter and last longer).  Use paper bags instead of plastic(although they still use up trees they will biodegrade whereas plastic bags will last basically forever), pick up litter wherever you see it, plant some trees or plenty of plants in  your yard etc.

Other than that, I'd suggest getting involved in some organisation, like an environmental club or other group.  See what's around.

Also, eating organic or vegetarian helps.

  5. There are soo many ways to help the enviorment. People think its hard, but it really isnt. And not to mention, but they can help you AND the enviorment. Here are some easy ways to go green:

-Wash your hair every other day. by washing your hair, not only are you wasting water, but you are stripping your hair of its natural oils.

-Take short showers. It feels nice to just stand under the hot water but it's not nice to waste all that water.

-Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth. You arent using the water; its just going to waste.

-Look into buying florescent lightbulbs and other energy efficient light bulbs. Walmart has them for a cheaper price that some other places.

-If you like to wear make-up, there are some eco-friendly brands that you can buy. My fave brand is URBAN DECAY and they use sinthetic hair instead of real animal hair. it is also made of easily recycled metals and plastics.

-Whenever you leave for a trip or will be away from your home for a while, unplug everything from the outlets. This means that not only are you saving energy, but lower electric bill, WOO HOO!!

-Recycle. Why throw away something that will end up in a landfill and burned when you can recycle it and use it over and over again? Better for the enviorment.

-Dont litter! All the trash that you trow out your window or drop on the ground and dont pick up, ends up where its not supposed to be. The majority of trash that is littered ends up in oceans, killing hundreds of animals.

-Go organtic. Organtic milk, fruits, veggies, pasta and so much more. Just go to Publix and shop in your GreenWise section. Its all organtic and soo much healthier. And the good thing about that is that it taste just as good as all that processed and artificial stuff but its healthier!

-Instead of buying water bottles, but a reuseable one that you can just wash instead of throwing away all there plastic bottles.

-Walk, bike, or skate to close places instead of driving. Cars release toxins into the air that are harmfull to the atmosphere and effect global warming, in a negative way.

There are so many more ways to help the enviorment. you can just go to different ways to contibute to, and help the enviorment. On Arbor Day, plant some trees in your yard. Pick up trash that you see lying around. You can go to different websites to see how you can help some more.

  6. Hi, Bri

A lot of us are in the same boat or have been recently.  About a year ago, I was asking the same question.  I decided that the great challenge of our generation is to engage to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and thereby minimize global warming.  So I agreed to start a Sierra Club Cool Cities Team.  We have made some progress in our city and enjoyed getting to know others with similar concerns.

First, start by informing yourself.  Each day learn a little more.  Why not start by estimating  your own greenhouse gas emissions?  There are many calculators on- line such as those at Native Energy, The Climate Protection Alliance  and Sierra Club and Acterra's Cool It Program.  When you understand where your own emissions are coming from, it is easier to minimize them.  It can be kind of fun to see how low you can get them.

Second, join a group that is working to encourage governments to make the changes needed to reduce global warming.  There are on-line groups such as The Climate Protection Alliance and local groups such as Cool Cities.  It is encouraging to know you are not alone in your concerns.   Also, groups make more of an impact than an individual acting alone.  And groups are more fun.

We need to act individually to reduce our personal emissions and those of the organizations to which we belong and to change government policies and practices to reshape society.

Good luck.  Please let us know what  you decide to do.

  7. go to websites like, studentactivities.tamu.edu/node/203 and going.com/group-247;Going_Green. I've been to these websites they helped me when i was starting to get involved with  helping and stuff.. idk well i hope that helps...

if they don't work try doing things like saving light energy, picking up litter, recycling, offering to inform some  groups of children to get involved and give them activities to do at home that might be fun (making recycled paper, growing plants.... things like that might change the future... once i told one of my friends that i'm going to clean out this dumpy area, and i told her to ask 2 to 4 people to come and join me and the next thing i know it, 38 or i think 42 people show up! it was great that they helped & my point is that a lot of people wanted to help, it made a difference.

  8. WHAT To: DUNNY --She said GOING GREEN and your telling her to use paper bags where does paper come you doofus  he was right on buying energy-saving light bulbs and they're not that more expensive go to target they're like the same price there and if your going to the store like across the street walk there its easy (its what i do) unless your gonna carry like two boxes of water bottles if its one your fine and if you do decide to bring your car then don't use bags at all use either your car or  now a lot of stores(including Target) have those bags that are 1.50 or 1.00 and they last like forever and those don't use trees to be made  GOING GREEN !! yay good for you
