Going Into Year 10 But Very Worried?

Is there anything I should worry about? (Apart from GCSES!) are GCSES just like SATs, only more important? Do you get lots more homework? What's the coursework like?

  1. SATs are irrelevant to your future other than possibly which groups you end up being placed in year 10.

GCSEs will often be asked for by employers, so it's important that you do your best.

  2. hey Girl Friend I'm gonna go into year 10, and boy I'm excited, i was worried a couple of weeks ago, and I'm cool now, cuz you get more freedom and choose your life and do your options you choose, yes you get more homework and course work, but now you ain't forced to do those subjects you hated, like drama, music, french, history or geog, unless you choose them. so in brace it with style.

    year 10 apartly is fun.

p.s. its never a good idea to cut and past you know, did it once for a piece of homework in year 8 cuz i couldn't be bothered and got into S**t for it. =D

  3. you will be fine im shure

  4. SATS are the biggest pilt of ***T you ever do they mean NOTHING

yes gcses are much more important lmao

    and much more work

    and yes lots of hw

and the cw is a humungous load of stress

if you want to get good grades that is

  5. don't worry don't worry! I've just left year 11 and year 10 was the best year of my life!! The work's easier than year 11 but obviously harder than year 9, however it's more focused on your chosen subjects and it's fun! You don't get more homework, about the same amount, but you get coursework which if you do it well can really help your gcse grades go up!   Coursework isn't really hard, it's just essays and stuff, as long as you know you're stuff and work hard you'll do fine!!

Also GOT to add, do NOT get behind on your coursework or leave it to the last minute, really not a good idea around exam time!

  6. My advice for you is to NOT copy and paste off the internet! First of all, teachers can normally tell whether a piece of work has been written by someone your age or someone a lot older because of vocabulary and style.

Still, it may get past your teachers but official markers check coursework for plagiarism (because they know that people will just try to get away with copy and pasting) and often and have sophisticated skills for doing so.

As for the exams, i'd say that you should pay special attention to your GCSEs as they are more important than your SATs and will be important for the rest of life. They are also instrumental when it comes to doing the AS and A Level courses that you want to do which are the key thing if you want to enter higher education. (this all may seem like rhetoric, but I ignored part of the importance of this and when I was your age it felt like AGES until I was going to leave but it's only a few years.)

But the thing is not to worry about how well you need to do, all you need is to get on with the work you have to do, complete and present it well and you'll be absolutely fine.

  7. It won't be much different from the previous year. Don't stress yourself about the exams. Start the year off with dedicating yourself to learning. When the time comes for the tests, you will be ready. As for the coursework, it is usually just an addition to what you learned the year before, If you did well last year, then you will be ready for this year. Learn while you can, and treasure the time you have. High school goes by fast.

  8. You will have slightly more homework but it will be more because it will usually be coursework.

Coursework it like a project that you have to do in each subject.

    You'll be fine.

  9. don't worry it wont be too bad!

its alot better because you drop the subjects you hate so your doing what  you want to be doing (well mostly lol! )

your teachers will help make the coursework and your gcses as easy as possible for you so just work hard and try your best :)

the only advice youll need is do your coursework when its set! ask anybody thats just done there gcses, year 11 goes so quickly and trying to do coursework that you didnt do it year 10 is very hard and makes things more stressfull lol :)

but dont worry, im sure you will be fine :)

    xx

  10. Hey you shouldn't worry,

your only as good as you get taught so the more you learn something the better you will get.

    SATS - unimportant

GCSE - important for your cv and employers

BIG TIP - dont ever copy and paste coursework its called plajerism, if you plajerise work then you might get disqualified from doing all of your gcse exams then you wouldn't have any qualifications would you?

  11. Don't worry too much, just do all of your coursework because you don't want to leave it until year 11!

  12. Hey xx Ive just finished year 10 and going into year 11 .. Year 10 just goes really really quick.. You hardly get homework (well i didn't) Its mainly taking notes and coursework (In English i done 3 essays for my coursework) .. Science i done 2 Essays and in Maths i had to do this statistics project.. I suppose its down to the school and what subjects your doing aswell..  Don't worry too much about year 10.. Yes its a important year but just go with the flow :) .. GCSE's are more important then SATS yes as they are giong to help you with college and job applications.. They are the same as SATS yet you need to just ut more effort into them.. Good Luck :) xx

  13. Well if you do copy and paste your work will be disqualified.

It is SO easy to spot it. You'd be surprised how many students don't even check the stuff they are pasting is from the UK.

  14. I've just finished year 11 myself. Year 10 isn't that much different, except of course the lessons you choose to do. You'll probably be making new friends, as they tend to shuffle the people's groups around so that people are able to do what they want, so you won't be the only one feeling slightly intimidated. The only significant difference I noticed was a slight increase in homework, and the teachers will treat work with a higher importance - they may for example insist you stay into your lunch break to finish something if it has a deadline, but don't worry, just keep your pace and it's usually nothing. On the whole though, don't feel intimidated or shy. Everyone else will be going through the same thing and I promise that you will adapt to it within a couple of months at most. Good luck =)

  15. You dont even need to think about SATS anymore. I no your teachers pressured you when you was doing them, but its your GCSE's that count now and no they are not like SATS's. As for coursework DO NOT copy and paste things of the internet. You will get fount out because your teacher knows your ability and knows the websites where you can get cheats off. You do get a lot of coursework but not a lot of homework. You only get homework to help you with upcoming coursework really.
