  1. I was raised in Boca Raton, Florida and contrary to popular belief Boca isn't this all exclusive rich town that the snotty people who live there would like tourists and newcomers to believe. Depending on which neighborhood you live in you'll probably be introduced to a lot of island people and average middle class americans. As far as finding a part time job, there's a good chance the easiest and fastest way you will get hired is to apply at one of the retail stores, fast food joints and chain restaurants cause that is all there is in Boca. That and a bunch of nursing homes, law offices (the divorce rate is ridiculously high) and real estate offices. Good luck and get used to driving at about 35 mph because of all the old people in their Lincoln town cars who still have their license but need someone to help them put on their Depends. Basically its a city populated with lots of Jewish people, Hatians, Jamaicans, Republicans, trophy wives, cheating husbands, plastic surgeons, spoiled rich kids driving Jaguars to school, iilegal immigrants hired to do jobs at $3.00 an hour and chain stores. God, I can't wait to go back! Its like no other city in the world. Enjoy!

  2. Boca Raton is a bit more costly compared to the surrounding areas. But it's not as high as in NYC or CA. The job market is chilly right now. But with a little extra effort, you should be able to line up something for work. Enjoy the palms, man.
