  1. Play with others, for 2 main reasons.

    1. admit your a newby and they will be glad to help with advise

    2. more players means a slower game, so you have more time to think and you can watch what the others are doing.

picking up any basic blackjack book with be helpful, just to understand the lingo.

  2. If its your first time my only advise is not to sit at the seat that goes last, if you mess up everyone will be mad because your affecting the dealers card they could draw.  If your the only one at the table the dealer will help

  3. There is no advanatge or disadvanatage in terms of the hosue edge, howver some things will be gained or lossed

There is one measurable advantage, and it is when you are at a table with as many players as possible, it comes from the fact that you are comped a fixed amount of comps per period of time.  With a full table the pace of the game slows to about 30% of what it is if you are the only player, thereofre you lose 30% of the amount of money you would playing by yourself, but get the same amount of comps.  Playing at a table that offers side bets like lucky ladies, match the dealer et will further slow the pace of the game.

If you are at a full table you may be able to get advice from other players but i wouldnt trust it, iv never met ONE blackjack player that knew perfect playing strategy to heart, so buy yourself  a blackjack strategy card at a gift shop.

And as i suggested though you may not have picked up on, when you are playign by yourself at a table you will be dealt ~240% more hands than you would playing at a full table so you will lose 240$ more money so playig by yourself is disadvantageous.

You may want to steer yourself  away form third base to avoid harrassment form other players, it is beleived by many peopel that foolish plays will ALWAYS effect the dealers draw for the wrose and whenever it happens the blame will go onto you.

Lastly dont play blackjack games where blackjacks pay 6:5 instead of 3:2 the hosue edge is 4X as large

  4. I personally have tried both, and if there is an advantage, i'd say sit with a few other people.  The few times i've tried to play alone, i got my A$$ handed to me every time! When i accused them of cheating and tried to take my chips back and run, they threw me down and kicked me.  I fought them off with my straw from drink, but they managed to throw me out anyway.

  5. Play where there is a group of people.

You want to sit as close to the dealer's left as possible, because there are idiots who will get annoyed if the person on the far right draws a card that would have busted the dealer.  It's a stupid superstition, but people can be weird and annoying.  So it is just better to sit in early position.

You don't want to play alone because you will play a lot more hands.  Since there is a built in house edge, the more hands you play, the quicker you are likely to lose your money.

  6. If you are starting out definitely with other people and the first or second seat(dealers left). I play pro and play solo highlimit against the dealer. I dont want anyone else influencing my hand. The swings are incredible up and down, but for the novice stick to a full table which you can get advice from players and enjoy the full experience of blackjack.

  7. Play at a table with multiple palyers.
