  1. Make sure you eat other proteins, like beans. I would recommend getting a vegetarian cookbook or two so you don't feel lost for what to eat. If you are still eating dairy products, make sure that you do so you get all your vitamins. A daily supplement won't hurt but it's better get get vitamins from whole foods.

You might lose weight but it depends on what you are eating, not what you aren't eating. Weight loss is calories in - calories burned. If you are eating lots of veggies cooked in a bit of olive oil and a little bit of cheese, you should lose weight. If you are eating fried veggies or veggies cooked in butter, and lots of white bread then you are less likely to lose weight. (Exercise helps.)

  2. Losing weight from being a vegetarian depends on the diet you already have. If you eat a lot of meat, then yes, you will lose a lot of weight. From constantly eating salads, it will fill you up quick, and help you lose weight. Although a lot vegetarians just start eating unhealthy after a while (eat a lot of chips, tons of bread, chocolate) just watch your diet.

Another  thing you need to look out for is getting enough protein, Trust me, this is important. You can really hurt your body from ending protein intake. Eat a lot of nuts, cashews, etc (great source of protein) and of coarse, milk.

  3. Google the vegetarian food pyramid and follow it.  Get 20-30 minutes of moderate exercise a day and switch to whole grain bread and pasta (not white) and you will lose weight.  Limit the bread to a few times a week though.

  4. Stop eating refined foods, sugary snacks and soft drinks. Just cutting that out and going on a wholesome vegetarian diet will shed pounds. When I went vegetarian I also started eating healthier and lost about 20lbs in 4 months without even exercising. I hardly ever exercise!

  5. Eat lots of veggies, fruit and drink plenty of water.

    Good Luck :)

  6. just don't give up!!! the first week is the hardest, but i haven't had much of any craving since then, and i've been a vegetarian for over a year... good luck!

  7. You'll only really lose wait if

    you become a bad vegetarian

    who doesn't eat properly.

  8. im 13 and i have been a vegitarian for about a year. one day i decided to stop eating meat. and i did. the more you reisist eating meat the easier it becomes. hope this helps=]

  9. Well i being a vegetarian for almost 7 months; know its a very hard thing to do. You wont loose weight though you might even gain a little because vegetarians dont eat well. You can how ever prevent this. There is kits you can get online for free, magazines and books. Make sure your commited. Look online for recipes and at stores for magazines. Its good to go to the store and buy vegetarian meals, which the ribs in my opinion are the best but you can try many different types of things. Good luck!
