Going away for college: Do you think finding rides to church would be difficult? ?

I found a college I hope I will be able to go, but I also found a great church a few miles away. Did you have an easy time finding ways to get to a church in town? (The ride is only about 5 minutes, but there is no way to go on public transportation, it would end up taking an hour and a half because of the stops available) Thanks.

  1. I had this problem years ago when I had no car and I found out the church had a bus (which was advertised in the newspaper), so I called the bus number and was picked up along with my two children the following morning.  I was so delighted to go and meet new people and be in this spirit-filled church.

Anyway, I would suggest you call the church and ask if they have a bus that picks people up or someone in your area who has room in their car for you.

  2. There are plenty of churches near my university. It depends on the size of your school basically. If you can't find ones close enough, consider going to a bigger school. That is, if going to church every single Sunday is THAT important to you.

  3. No usually if there is not a public transportation service there is some system you can call. Many churches offer rides to services. Call and ask if they have a bus or something. Perhaps if they don't someone would be willing to pick you up; on their way. God bless.

  4. Call the church and ask them.

Most good churches in college towns provide rides to and from church for local college students.

If they aren't helpful in that area, find another church.

  5. If the church is within just a few miles of a college, I'd say it's a safe guess they have had this question before.  Look up their phone number and ask them.  Be willing to meet someone outside at an easy-to-find pick-up point near the campus -- and please be super-considerate of your driver.  Be on time always.  Never be a no-show.  Say 'thank you' frequently and with eye contact.  Consider special thank you gifts occasionally.

  6. Oh no, not an hour and a half. How long do you think it took Christ to carry his cross to his death?

You should walk to church. Exercise and reflection are good.

  7. If you have a car it should be fine.

  8. I'm sure that someone at the church would be willing to pick you up and drop you off after church.  You just have to ask.  I would actually suggest calling the church and asking for a ride.

  9. It might be hard to find a ride from a student but if you bring your bike or walk the first week you might be able to find a ride with a parishioner at the church.

  10. Shouldn't be a problem. Find the campus Christian group. I'm sure someone will give you a ride.

  11. If you call the church and ask them to contact someone that lives close to you and see if they would be interested in picking you up, I am sure that you will get to church.  I would do that for a person especially a college student.

  12. Call the church and tell them you'd like to attend but you need a ride.  There will be someone there who would be happy to drive you.

I'm so glad that you have found a way to stay close to your faith while you're in college.  Good luck!

  13. I'm sure you could find someone from the church that would pick you up.
