So I will not be able to take my microwave sterelizer. Does anyone know what I could do when it comes to sterelizing my daughters bottles.

How do sterelising bags work?

What would be the best thing I can by.

Thanxs

  1. buy one when you get there, they're only about £25, just a thought, save you using stuff you haven't used before.

  2. I think putting bottles in the dishwasher is okay if they have one.  Sterlizing bags work in the microwave as well.  Or I guess you could boil them.  I always just washed my daughters bottles in the dishwasher.

  3. You could just boil them in a pan or put them in a dish of boiling water. If you insist on sterilising the bottles you could also use a dishwasher if they have one.

  4. Get sterilising tablets. You just put all your bottles in a very clean sink, at cold water and a tablet. Leave them for half and hour then take them out! Easy peasy poo!

  5. Just thought i would enforce the first answer and say put them in a pot of water and boil the water, nothing else to it.

  6. If you insist on sterilizing the bottles, then just boil them on the stove in a pot of water.

I only sterilized my baby's bottles when I first bought them.  It's not really necessary after that.

  7. I would even rather boil them with hot water rather than using a microwave.

  8. You could get some Miltons sterlising fluid, you just add this to water in any container big enough to hold the bottles, leave them soaking for 25 minutes before use and then you're ready to go, you can use the batch you've made up for the day before you'll need to make up a new batch. I have a steam steriliser but it's a bit bulky to take on holiday with me so i've got a bottle of the fluid to take with me. You only need a small amount for each time you make up a batch so a bottle lasts ages.

  9. buy some milton tablets then you could still take your steriliser but just dont put in the microwave. this is what i do every day!

  10. We used to have a Avent steam steriliser tub  it would hold about 6 bottles, caps and t***s. You would put the lid on, turn on the power and it would sterilise everything in about half an hour.

  11. Most reliable pediatric sources agree that as long as you have a good uncontaminated domestic water supply, it really isn't necessary to sterilize them anymore.

Please read the article before giving me a thumbs down, I didn't just pull this out of my butt.

And if you do not have BPA-free bottles, you should NEVER sterilize them because exposure to heat is what causes the chemical to leach.

  12. buy sterilising tablets that go in cold water!!

  13. Cold water sterilization: Tablets used for this method are available in the market. Dissolve them in the prescribed amount in the prescribed amount of water. This will form a solution that is effective against bacterial. These tablets are safe and will not have any side effects even if swallowed. You can buy a sterilizing unit for this or buy a bucket with a lid, which is used for this purpose alone. You must ensure that the bottles are completely submerged in the solution. For complete sterilization make sure that there are no air bubbles in the bottles. Sterilization should be complete in half an hour, but it is safe to leave items in the solution for 24 hours. Fresh solution must be made every day. Make sure your hands and washed before removing the sterilized equipment. Fill the bottles with milk and store them in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Keep bottles in the main part of fridge, as it is colder than the door. Keep away from raw food.

  14. Sterilising bags work in the microwave.

Boil your bottles on the cooker in a pot of hot water, or buy a cold water steriliser.
