Question:

Going blonde on my own?

I have hair a little past my ear and I really wanted to dye it blonde, my mother told me its my hair, and that I can do what I want, but shes not letting me waste my money at a salon to do it, she says I have to bleach it and tone it myself and do the touchups and I can only go the salon for a hair cut, so I went to sallys and bought kaleidocolors bleach, 20 volume developer, and a purple toner.

I know the basics, like to avoid the scalp until my hair is yellow, tand then put bleach ony roots, and stuff like that, but does anyone have any tips, dont try to discourage me from doing it myself, i have no other options, plus i wanna be a hairdresser when im older so this is a good expiereince for me.

also i have a question, if I bleach the first time and my hair goes orange, can I rinse out the ligthener, dry it and bleach again or should I wait a day, but I cant go to school with orange hair so I cant wait that long.

lol do you have any tips or tricks i should know, thanks, bye.

I have thick very dark ash brown hair and im a 13 year old boy.

  1. I know you don't want anyone to discourage you, but I've had roommates do it the way they thought "was right" and it turned out a DISASTER! Big time!! Their methods were almost identical to the way you mentioned. You might try saving your money (I don't know if you get allowance or anything) or seeing if she would take you to a cosmetology school. They offer those services at a reduced price and licensed beauticians oversee their work. Doesn't always turn out, but it is definitely a safer choice. Good Luck! :o)
