Going camping need help?

i have two questions and i am going to put it in this one thingy:

1) can i use my north face recon bookbag as a day pack?

2)if so what should i bring in my day pack?

yeah you can take that pack day hiking. i mean north face(quality).

just put a power bar, wind breaker, water depending how much you think youll drink and a little extra. aloso have a knife with you and what ever else you think is neccesary.

Yes you can use your bookbag as a day pack.

If you are going hiking in the woods, you should bring, water, some high calorie small food like a power bar or two, waterproof matches and striker, a pocket knife, a whistle, a big garbage sack (still folded) to use as a blanket or emergency rain poncho, first aid kit, tp, phone.

Nice to have things are a space blanket, sunscreen, bug juice, hat, camera, little mirror ( to signal just in case the worst happens)

it might be a smart idea, depending on the weather and what you are doing, but keep and extra pair of clothes in your car.

i dnt know wat a bookpack is. but u need for than a day pack... camping is over night. so you might beed an overnight pack too :D

I agree with Zoe - your book bag will do as a day pack.

The only things I would add to Zoe's list would be:

-map of the area you're hiking

-a compass

-and if you're hiking into an elevation (where it's colder) some fleece (small jacket to put on under rain gear, hat, & gloves).
