Question:

Going digital... got a question!?

I'm pretty hip on my 35mm camera.. but I do want a digital camera, I had one in the past but it was junk. When taking a picture of someone, they would have to be REALLY still in order for it not to be blurry.

What digitial camera should I get? I want something fairly small, but takes good pictures.

What is your favorite digital camera and why?

(I was thinking either canon power shot, or sony cyber shot.. are these good??)

Thanks in advance!

  1. If you are having these problems with a fully adjustable 35 mm camera, it could be that you just need to take a class in photography ... learn how to shoot under various lighting conditions.

    There are a few problems with P&S cameras that you will find soon after you buy yours.

    * No interchangeable lenses.

    * For the most part, they are all automatic with very little in the way of operator manual controls.

    * Camera movement is still an issue when shooting in "available light" (no flash).

    Look here for a camera that uses SD/SDHC memory cards and choose one that has the features you want.  http://www.dpreview.com

  2. The 1st 2 answers are both good

    one thing I will add, is to make sure that you get a camera with IS (Image stabilization), or

    VR (Vibration reduction)

    They help with the "camera shake" that I think you are describing

    Canon and Nikon both have some nice, low cost cameras

  3. I prefer the Canon Powershots.  I went to a get together on Sunday, and everyone there had Canon cameras!  From what I've read, they are the leaders in Point & Shoots.   I've had mine for over two years and never had a problem at all.   Canon has excellent customer service if something should go wrong.

  4. Nikon the new ones  its really handy i can tell you wen ppl are moving so you  wont have to take blury or moving pics it can also take still pics
