  1. None that I know of.

  2. Auckland isnt a compact city its one of the biggest geographically, renting a car would be a good idea, and if you can get out of the city!

  3. Don't by-pass Rotorua.

The Glaciers in the South Island.

There is too much to list......unlike our fly-ridden neighbour

    hehehe

  4. ( 1 )-  The Bay Of Islands. as an Aussie the whole country was great would have liked more time to look around had three weeks and was nowhere near enough. Have Fun.

  5. go to this website its a must to visit enjoy your holiday

    http://www.aatravel.co.nz/101-must-dos-f...

  6. The airport - on your way back home.

  7. Dont go to Auckland the rest of New Zealand is MUCH better.

Auckland is not a nice city.

But if you have to go there, The viaduct harbour, sky city (but dont go inside it is a dirty casino)

Seriouslt though check out the south island,  its life changing

  8. Oh man! If you like being thrilled, then you have to do the Skycity Tower jump. It's a nearly 200m freefall from the top. Well, you're strapped into a harness with steel cables. It's NOT a bungy, it's a wire controlled freefall. Check out the link below - I've done it and it's AWESOME fun!!!

  9. Check out

    www.newzealand.com

    www.aucklandnz.com

    www.tourism.net.nz

Do a tour of the volcanic cones, go up the Sky Tower, go out to the visitor centre in the Waitakere Ranges... depends what you're into. Check the websites, and whatever you choose, enjoy your visit!

(BTW, further to dreamerlaurie's posting, the Coromandel Peninsula is not the northern tip of the North Island - you have to go south to get there from Auks. Check your map for directions. Hot Water Beach, on its east coast, has the hot springs at low tide - take a spade. There are kauri on the Coromandel, but for the real deal, head north of Auckland to the Waipoua Forest, and see Te Matua Ngahere and Tane Mahuta - awesome!)

  10. The Skytower 360 degree views of the whole city for miles

  11. You can find everything in Auckland from urban fun and frolic to holidaying on island under sun. Auckland is the largest city of New Zealand located at the periphery of the sea. Your tour to Auckland will fetch you an experience of urban environ comprising hiking trails, pristine beaches and quite a dozen enthralling holiday islands. Enjoy a sunny atmosphere, a surrounding tempo of culture of Polynesia and a zeal for exceptional wine, food and shopping-this is all what Auckland gets for you.

In Maori language, Auckland is called as Tamaki-Makau-Rau, which means 'the maiden with a hundred lovers'. It earned its name due to fact that it is a land inhabited by a lot of tribes. Auckland is a perfect intermingle of Polynesian culture harbour, islands, and modern city environ has fashioned a lifestyle that is ranked among the finest in the world.

Auckland is so compact that you can reach almost anywhere in just 30 minutes. It is a city with the flavour of many cultures. The perfect example of it is the cuisine called Pacific Rim, which has the flavour of both Asian and Pacific countries.

  12. Rent a car or a camper, and head up the coast towards the northern tip of the north island.(the Cormandel) That is where the kauri trees are. Wild looking trees, very primeval. There are hot water beaches on the coast. You dig a hole in the sand and it fills with warm water. Very cool.

Then if you have time head down south towards Rotorua, hotsprings and lots of geothermal activity. Then on to Lake Taupo, the largest lake in NZ. Check out the Tonguraro National Park near Turangi(not far from Lake Taupo) Wild vocanic country, Lord of the Rings was filmed there. Bring raingear because NZ weather can be wild and unpredictable. Good luck, I'm jealous.
