What is the best way to go from Cork to Dublin, with public transport? And what is the cheapest?

Is it a good idea to go during Easter, or will all the shops be closed that weekend?

  1. Train because at least if you start to get fed up ypu can stretch your legs, also the jax on the train is a way better than the ones on buses.

    .

  2. go by train and make sure the price for the Luas is included on your train ticket

all the main shops should be open except on Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday :)

  3. I travelled from Dublin to Cork by bus, and return ticket was 18 EUR, which was 3 times cheaper than going there by train.

  4. Ryaniar fly from Cork at least 5-6 times daily and charge no more than Euro 60, this can be sometimes cheaper than the train, way faster too.

  5. Dublin, California is a long way from Cork.  Recommend a comfy shipping container for the first leg to Oakland or  San Francisco first, then just hop on the BART train and get off at Dublin/Pleasanton station.
