Question:

Going from a BMW X3 to VW Tiguan SEL?

My aunt wanted me to do some car research for her as the lease on her X3 is up in a few months. I have done some research on the Tiguan and found that people agree, while not a quick vehicle, rides well and is made of quality materials, and, IMHO, is much more attractive than the absolute abomination of automotive design the X3 (and the SEL costs 10 g's less to boot)

I know the Tiguan is not in the same class as the X3 and is slower (by about a second) but the price is right.

Would my aunt be disappointed going from an X3 to a Tiguan?

  1. My dad has an X3. When I go to my Parents House and Drive it, it is a major step up in speed from my Current Car (2004 Lexus GX470), but the ride is intolerably firm, leaving you to feel everything on the road- I mean EVERYTHING.

My Dad likes the car, but he is coming to the age where the ride to too stiff and he will be trading it in for an Audi Q7, Buick Enclave or Acura MDX.

If I was your Aunt, I would take a look at the Acura RDX. For around $36,000, you can get an amazing navigation system, leather, sunroof, heated seats, and plenty more. Plus, it is considered to be faster than the BMW X3.

Or, she could wait until early 2009 for the new Audi Q5. The Q5 will compare to the BMW X3 and Acura RDX. Most likely, it will run for around $36,000 with Leather, Sunroof, and Other Features. From working at an Audi Dealer, I get numerous calls a day for information on the Q5. It is really worth the wait.

Also, on another note, she should look at the Toyota Rav4 V6. The Rav4 is faster than the X3, and RDX, and Tiguan. It is built well and looks cool. It would run you around $28,000 at most.

    Good Luck
