Going from a dirt bike to a street bike?

Next month I'll be getting a street bike, I've never rode one or even sat on one for that matter. But I have been riding dirt bikes for about 14 years now. Will making the transition be difficult? I plan on taking the MSF course and practicing a bit on the back roads before I hit the streets.(I live in a small city though, nothing major) I'm just a little nervously excited about it all.

  1. I did the same thing years ago, and I found riding a street bike a piece of cake after riding in the dirt for years.

  2. Sounds like your doing it right.

  3. i no how you feel

when i was 17 i got my 1st bike it was a kawasaki kmx 125 b10 and i was riding that for 6 years and no w as i have passed my test i have just got my self a yamaha thundercat 600

  4. you'll be fine... dont worry about it. Enjoy!

  5. You are going about it the right way! Good for you! The only really big difference is that there are other cars around you, and you have to be wary of them, they don't always make the right decisions. The MSF course should prepare you well, though! Good luck, and wear that helmet!!!

  6. You should have no problem at all.

  7. I have rode dirt Bikes for many years and was in the same situation.  Its an easy transition.  You might even say that riding in the dirt is more challenging.  You will jump right on it...
