Why are they trying to make this a trend?

I see many people going "green" and they dont help the environment at all!!

Stop watching TV, and sit outside to see how you can help.

Take ACTIONS!

If you plant trees, you create life~

  2. then get of your computer and do something about it

  3. THANKYOU!!!  all these damned tv shows arent going to do anything...  how the h**l do they think they are helping when they just sit inside in their huge energy wasting houses watching tv!! ahh!!! it pisses me off terribly!!

  4. It can be both. For many of us it has been a lifestyle for many years. For others it is just the latest trend. For some it is a marketing technique. For some it is a passion. Going Green means many things to many people, there is a lot of information out there and not all of it is accurate. I don't think there is any one answere to why or how someone should make a choice that is better for the environment, every choice matters.

I think even if you a buying an organic tshirt because it is the trending thing to do it is good. Hopefully that person begins to be aware of how their purchases affect the planet. I also think we need to find new ways of reaching those that aren't already aware of what they can do. I think that TV can be that venue for some people. Not everyone who cares about the environment has to give up modern conveniences, and showing people that they can still live in a typical home and just use less energy and create less waste without giving up comfort will be more likely to create change than telling people thay have to give up their lifestyle. All those changes matter.

We are sheep and we are easily lead astray by media, that is why I vote with my wallet. There is so much green washing going on it is laughable. Many people want to do the right thing, they just have a hard time knowing what it is. I don't think beating them up because they don't make all the same choices you do does any good. I describe my self as striving for a more sustainable life. I'm not giving up my car, but it is a hybrid, I'm not giving up my suburban home, but I have made many changes to make it more energy efficient, and I will continue to think of my impact with every change I make, I do buy tha majority of my food from local and organic farms, but I will drive through McDonalds on occasion. Yes, my husband has Starbucks almost every morning, but I have switched him to a reusable cup, we are making changes, and yes we make the easy ones first, someday I may get him out of the coffee shops, but for now, I'm good with where we are. We aren't perfect, but we are improving.

When I hear people say going green is too expensive, I have to laugh and remind them the 1st word in the mantra is reduce, by definition that will save you money.

  5. If the economics don't work, Going Green won't either. Check this reference for cool green business ideas you can profit from as well

  6. to late to help the environment.  We already screwed it up so bad, nothing you can do will fix it.  Go green if you want... it won't be my fault when the US is overrun with hippies again.  I like to think about this whole "going green" thing like hunting...

A long time ago people started hunting and trapping animals.  They did this so much that some when extinct.  Now a days, if we don't hunt we'll hurt the ecosystem even more.  There aren't enough bears to eat all the deer which cause them to over populate.  This will cause the deer to starve to death thus starving the bears.  We've screwed it up.  Yeah, oops, but oh well.

If we start making such dramatic changes to the earth, we'll hurt it even more.  The animals that have adapted will survive and the ones who didn't, they will die.  It is the natural order of things.  If we reverse what we've done, the animals will have to re-adapt or die because they did adapt.  Sometimes you kind of people think you are going to change the world for the better, but really, you help make it worse.

  7. Exactly! The term "going green" is just a scam for multi-million dollar companies to make more products for people to consume in the name of "saving the earth". It's not necessarily the Earth that's in danger, it's the human race. After humans die off the Earth will regenerate and new life will form. So basically if you want to help the human race just 'reduce'. Line dry your clothes, open the blinds for light in the daytime, grow some of your own fruits and vegetables, and don't circle around for hours trying to stalk people to their cars to find a close spot

  8.   It's people like you who are hurting this planet. You plant trees and and drink starbucks and think your sh*t doesn't stink. You drive hybrid cars and think that you are going to change the world. You know nothing.

Big corporations are paying to destroy this planet and raping the world of it's resources.People are blind to it. They are told to plant a tree or don't drive as much. Buy a hybrid car for $30000.00 and spend money on " green " products. All you are doing is lineing their pockets.

You are a sheep and the corporations are your sheppard leading you wherever they want you to go.

  9. i think this going green trend is damaging the economy. we cant harnest our own natural resources.( drilling for oil, harvesting lumber, builing nuclear power plants, hydroelectic dams. all of which i support)

i also think this whole global warming thing is a scam created by al gore. and the idiots, the ones conforming to the green fad, in this country that fall for this are tryin to put people like him into power and force us all to drive hybrids which wont do any good in the long term in saving the enviorment. becuase all of the battery acid that will be disposed in the landfill if they're bought in mass amounts. i personally think those pricks are no better off than if they drove a hummer for 13 years.

I think we should preserve our prestine areas but else from that we should harness the resources in those areas.

I also thinks we should all convert to them flouresecnt bulbs to reduce energy cost in out home.
