Going home or staying on the US or kill myself?

The US economy sucks right now. Nobody gets a job. I am a recent graduate. I have been applied for jobs since March. I have been to many interview, but no jobs.

I am an F-1 visa with 1 years work permit (It will end in May next year) I definitely sure no prospective employers will help me get H1B.

I feel like a loser. I want to kill myself. My parents have paid for my tuition. It was an international tuition--very expensive. I am in so much pressure and depressed.

Should I go home?

  1. Tom...there are ton's of jobs out there.  Re-focus and take the pressure you are facing off of your back.  It is possible you have created a burden greater than need be and its hindering your search.  Expand the cities you would like to find a job.  Washington DC is always a tight job supply.....it is nearly recession proof.  Try there.  It's possible, however, that your attitude is contributing to your lack of offers??  At least consider it and lighten up.

Alot of us have been here before.  We are not even in a recession....YET.  In the early 80's men were taking jobs as secretary's to make ends meet.  So, you kinda have to do what you can to survive no matter what.

Good luck...why kill yourself, BTW...hope that was a joke.  If not seek help.  Your whole life is just beginning.  Don't s***w it up.  Make connnections, so that if you do have to return, you have made contacts that will help you return.

  2. Go home E.T. -- go home!

  3. NO, you must remember how hard your parents had to work to pay for your Tuition.  Perhaps, you must go online to submit your resume electronically to all Employment agencies, or Headhunters.  Remember DO NOT QUIT!!!

Sometimes we are put through Trials to see how strong we are, your Turn is UP next.  Think Positive and Positive things will come your way.  Bless You.

  4. You should get professional help

  5. what are you looking for..what kind of education do you have..where do you live now and where are you looking..what entrance level are you trying to get into...try taking anything right now until you find what you want...what country you from..

  6. Don't harm yourself.

The economy will get better. I just graduated from college (in the Liberal Arts!) so I feel the pinch as well.

Keep working for it - hopefully something will turn up. If needed, read a book on interviewing well - that might help you stay above the competition.

  7. U.S. citizens are going thru these times too, they are looking for work that is being taken from them by Legal and illegals.  It's the times, are there more jobs for you at home, then go home!!
