  1. The only thing that will make you not sore tomorrow is not going today.  Other than that, frequent stops so that you can get down and walk around a bit.  When you get home, take a LONG soak in a hot tub with some soothing oils and massage the muscles on your inner thighs and calf's...butt too.

    Good luck and have fun!

  2. Have a great time and take care. Anyone can get sore after a long hard ride.

  3. You probably will be sore but the ride is worth it. Don't dwell on tomorrow, ride for today!

  4. GO HAVE FUN TRAIL RIDING!!!

If you are going to be sore or not depends on how in shape you are.

as far as going to work tomorrow.... it depends on you.

just see how you are feeling tomorrow.

    GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN!!!!!

  5. if you are a girl you go horse bottom riding. horse back is for guys.

  6. Dont over-do it ; I suggest you ride for 2 hrs. or less .

  7. Stretch a lot before you go. Mostly your hips and legs. The part that will be the most sore are both sides of your groin....so do a lot of butterfly stretches. After you ride, stretch some more even if you're sore. It will help.

  8. NO! just have fun it will be a blast! I never get sore after riding although some do! It won't be a big issue!

  9. no but its worth it

  10. horse back riding is fun just walk for a while and get a feel for it then if your up for it trot or galop , i have ridden for 5 or 6 years on and off so i obviously dont get sore but you should be fine maybe a little sore but you will be fine to work

  11. If your going to be on a horse for a long time, and youve never ridden before yes, you are going to be very sore.

there arent really any precautions you can take except hope to get a comfy horse and tomorrow take lots of aleve.

    haha.

but the more you ride the less sore you get.

and hopefully you like it and stick with it, because its amazing!

  12. Take 800 mg Ibuprofin before you get on the horse and then again in about 4 hours.  Take a long soak in a warm bath as soon as you can after the ride.  Take another 800 mg of Ibuprobin as soon as you roll out of bed in the morning.  The key is to not allow the pain to get out of control.  That will get your muscles cramping and causing even more pain.

  13. I don't think it will be that bad because it is your first time and you are probably only going too Walk and trot. I think you will be fine, just have fun and take it all in.

HOpe this helps....please best answer this!

  14. everyones sore from their first horseback ride. just deal with it and wear comfy jeans and clothes. and wear lots of sunscreen. how long are you riding? a long time may be only an hour for you. no offense.

  15. it shouldn't be too bad unless you're working really hard and doing tons of posting and 2 point (which it doesn't sound like) don't worry about it... you'll be able to get to work

  16. Just do it.  You may be a bit sore but it wont disable you.  Just take it easy at work.  As long as you aren't doing serious manual labor you'll be fine.

    It's worth the experience.

EDIT-Whoever gave all us who said go for it you'll be fine a thumbs down knows nothing about equestrian riding.

  17. ok i use to ride for 7 years.

you are going to be sore. your legs will be the sorest and when u get off you will walk funny with your legs spread out. your butt will also be sore lol. wear comfy clothes! oh and bring a helmet becasue i stopped riding when a horse threw me and i blacked out for a min but i was wearing a helmet so please wear one lol.

  18. you wont get sore if its a trail ride... if it was a lesson then u would b really sore!!

  19. Soreness really depends on what type of horse you are riding.  Non-gaited horses trot and posting can make you sore if you're not used to doing it.  If you don't know how to post, you'll be sore from hitting the saddle.  If you keep your horse at a flat walk, you'll be a little sore, but it shouldn't be too bad.

If you have the luxury of riding a gaited horse, your soreness worries can be forgotten.  You may be a little sore, but you definitely won't have to worry about calling in.

Take a couple of Advil before you ride and if you are out for more than 5 hours, take a couple along.

Horseback riding is really fun!  Hope you enjoy it!  Happy Trails!

  20. call in sick now sisiter...cause you will be walking real funny...

Your thigh muscles will be achin from sitting over the horses largest part on thier body.

One thing to learn a lesson by..

Last Nov I busted both bursitas sacks on my butt bones and cracked ever so slightly my butt bones. Since this happened rite at the start of the ride. We all took off from a dead stop to a run..and the first smack of your A-s on the seat before you get your leggs to hold your body up from the seat as you run or gallop (watch horse racing and see how they ride)AND THEN ..POP went my butt BONES . No cure and most painful when walking sitting laying down..

I have riden all my life and lost 50 lbs since last Sept cause I am now allergic to wheat.  The Dr said if I would have been heavier and more butt padding it wouldn't have happened..

be aware and have FUN..its a blast!!!!

    :  )

  21. well if your not used to it, you can get pretty sore. If you want to go, wear comfortable jeans and ask if anyone has a saddle cover. i'm not sure what they are called but i used to put one on my old saddle that was really uncomforable. Its like a sheepskin pad that straps to the saddle and just helps a lot. But if your just walking i dont think you'll get too sore.

  22. you get sore the first time yes, but not to the point where you cant work. if your really worried about it, try riding with both legs on one side. as long as the horse isnt running this will be ok. it'll be fun, go have a good time! =)
