  1. I had my hair highlighted in fifth grade, but now that i look back i kinda wish i hadn't. I think it's too young and kids shouldnt be going that deep into fashion at that age. I think she should wait at least until 8th grade, other than that it damages your hair too...i don't know if it's true but a lot of people say your hair will go grey early if you keep on dying it and will fall out faster...i dunno though, but i've taken a break from highlighting it at least for awhile, b/c it really ruined the soft texture of my hair...so yea...

  2. she a pre teen so go ahead

  3. Nope - it's really not a big deal!! I know people that have DYED their hair in 5th or 6th grade. Highlights are fine. :)

  4. I think its totally up to you on this matter, since you have legal custody.  If you don't think there's anything wrong  with highlighted hair, then you should let her get it done.  However, you should make sure that it is a natural color, or else it would look too fake.  Many people get their hair highlighted at that age, even younger. If you have no problem with it, then you should go ahead!

  5. i got highlights then, but i decided i didn't like them, so i let them grow out.

  6. i had my hair highlighted wayy before that age

my mom let me do anything i wanted

and ive been growing up nice

    im 17

    making a's and b's

    in honors classes

    im a virgin

who believes in christ and has strong morals

and i was given all of the freedom in the world and wasnt restircted from things

but i was also explained the consequences of if i did certian things

:D so let her go ahead and do that

  7. personally i think that 11 is way too young to have highlighted hair, but then again many children are having their hair dyed!!

it is up to you really

    x*x

  8. Not at all. It looks really good you can do it yourself and turns out better. And cheaper

  9. Getting her hair highlited is not a big deal if it is something she truly wants.  You are not going to win every fight you have with her.  Choose your battles carefully.  Highlighted hair will eventually grow out if she ends up hating it.  I would be more concerned if she was asking to do something permanent, like get a tattoo.  My friend just let her almost 8 year old son get his ear pierced.  He has been bugging her since he is 5 years old.

My son is also going to be 12 in December and starting 6th grade.  He hasn't made any unusual requests.  He is not into fashion or his looks, yet.

  10. I don't see any harm in this at all

  11. i think its fine.

  12. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. My son is 11, also going into the 6th grade and he wanted his hair highlighted with chunky blonde highlights for the summer so I went and bought a hair painting kit and did it myself, it came out great and he loves it. It totally boosted his confidence. Nothing wrong with that, it's hair and it grows out.

  13. b4 the summer of 6th grade waz actually the first time my mom let me get my hair hightlited! i think its just about the rite age. they're old enough to WANT it and APPRECIATE it! =D
