Do you think going into the Army after being in the Marines and getting out is somehow "not right"- I thought once in "the CORP" always in the Corp.

Do you think it is breaking any sort of code of honor or anything. Or even a step down????

Your opinion is of interest......

  1. First off it's definetely not a "step down". The Marines are a great branch of service with a long and desirable history. The sad part is the US Navy who funds the Marines pretty much take them for granted. There are alot of former Marines in the Army due to our better equipment, more funding, greater opportunity for advancement, and so on. It's not breaking any code of honor. Being in the military is code of honor enough. In my last unit we had a guy that was a Marines with and in a force reconn unit and made the switch to the Army. He came in with a bad attitude and thought he was better than us. He quickly found out that these special operations capable airborne infantry soldiers were much more advanced physically, mentally, and tactically. He changed his tune and now enjoys the opportunity strive and progress in a career that will not only back him but push him to his limits. Go Army, Beat Navy! Army Strong.

  2. well you would be surprised how many people are in the army that used to be in the marines and everyone that i have met still have the marine pride it makes you wonder why they even got out in the first place

  3. I think that serving your country in any branch is admirable. That seems like a personal question. It shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks, it's your life and career. If you would feel sort of disloyal and it would bother you, then make your decision based on that. I don't think anyone would really care though.

If the question is about you, I have to say that I worked with a female that came from the Marines into the Army. She became my workout partner because she was in the best shape I'd probably seen any female in the Army. I think it may be a bit easier for you.

  4. why would you get OUT of one branch to go into another?  why not just stay in the marines?
