16 ANSWERS

  1. Overrated:

Chargers - If you take LT out of the picture the offense becomes incredibly average.  Last year's playoffs against Patriots prove this.  6 times is the red zone and the chargers only scored once.

Giants - the Superbowl champions arn't as good as they appeared. With a 2 and 6 record at home they rode a big wave of momentum to success that will unlikely be repeated.

Jaguars - They have solid round attack and good passing which translates to points the problem is stoping the opponent from scoring.  Their star first and second picks for defensive end have yet to sign and they have noticeable holes in the defensive backs.

Buccanners - The division champs from last season were there by what the other teams coulden't accomplish rather than what this team could.  With Delhomme healthy and a beefed up Saint team the bucks look to fall this season.

    Underrated

Chiefs - With 10 draft picks youth could be a factor, but the key component (QB) is the only thing missing in this entire team.  If Croyle can't step up the Chiefs will definately find someone who can.

Cardinals - A top 5 offense last year the only thing that was missing was the D.  They have some of the keys to improve in this area.

Raiders - I hate the black and silver as much as the next guy, but there is something said for the new QB, RB, CB, and Line backers they aquired

  2. Overrated- Jaguars and Saints (As Matt P Said) Especially the Saints.  True they have a few good players, but nothing the Packers, Seahawks, Giants, or Cardinals coudn't beat.

    Underrated-Cardinals, Texans, Broncos, Jets

  3. Underrated:  Falcons (everybody I've talked to think they're going to be like a 3 win team), Packers (just because Favre's out doesn't mean the Packers are too), and the Panthers (Delhomme's back)

Overrated:  New York Giants (I know they're Superbowl Champions, but they're going to need a whole lot more magic with Strahan gone, and Eli had better find some more of that playoff magic in the regular season)

  4. Underrated- Panthers, Seahawks

    Overrated- Jags, Saints

  5. Overrated - Vikings - I see them as having played in a week division so they are able to have some wins, but they have no true leader at the QB position...had they made the move to acquire Favre, I would consider them a serious threat...but for now, they will miss the playoffs and probable finish behind both Chicago and GreenBay in the Division.

Underrated - Titans - This team just keeps coming...people write them off and yes Jeff Fischer finds a way to win...you will see Vince Young continue to make strides as the Team Leader while at the QB position...funny the fault of the Vike's is the stength of the Titans.

As for other teams...Patriots, Cowboys, Colts...they are all ranked high and should be...anyone of those teams have the talent to win it all.

By the way, I see the Titans making into the Playoffs as a WC!!!

  6. over rated- jets and cowboys

    under rated- browns

  7. Underrated-Packers,Tampa Bay

Overrated-Jets, Packers(I know but people either overrate them or underrate them)

  8. Overrated: San Diego. Yes they have LT and a good defense but they still have not won it all and I think last year was their best chance to do it.

Underrated: Buffalo. They have a young team that is out to prove themselves in a division that has the Pats

Notes: the Browns can not be called underrated when the majority of experts are picking them to win the AFC North and Dallas is well just Dallas

  9. underratted- Vikings

    overratted- Packers

    Go Vikings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Overrated: Dallas Cowboys, every year these rabid fans think they will cruise through the NFC and get to the Super Bowl, but truth is they haven't won a playoff game since the 96 season, something I'd say 90% of NFL fans don't realize

Underrated: Buffalo Bills, this team has to play the Pats twice a year, constantly ripped on by NFL fans, endured much adversity last year (heartbreaking losses, Kevin Everett) and remained in the playoff mix till late in the year.  They have made a few key acquisitions, should be healthier, and the schedule allows them to possibly finish 10-6 and end their playoff drought, as they will fly under the radar and play underdog once again

  11. Overrated - Vikings and Saints.  Vikings once again have high aspirations, but will likely fall short.  Jarred Allen was big acquisition that solidified the d-line, but the secondary is still very suspect with a hurt Williams, Sharper that can't tackle, and no depth.  Quarterback is still their biggest problem position which is probably also the most important.  Jackson has shown he can't effectively or consistently lead the team.  Until they get someone who can, they'll be struggling.  Saints are still trying to figure out how to most effectively use Reggie Bush.  They will continue to do so until they realize he's not as good as they thought because he can run east to west and outside, but north and south inside are impossible for him.  Teams can predict him.  Their defense is still questionable as well with a secondary that gets burned. But mostly Reggie Bush is their problem.

    Underrated- Packers

The Packers only key loss in this offseason was Brett Favre.  Brett obviously had a great season last year, but we've seen what happens when he didn't have adequate talent around him, he stumbled.  And although Brett was a legend and an all time great, he couldn't carry a lackluster offense by himself.  That being said, GM Ted Thompson knows Brett Favre could still play and would probably have a good team again if he came back. But how many times can he do the "will he won't he retire" dance with a 38 year old quarterback?  This is especially important because Rodgers contract expires after the 2009 season, which means the 2008 season is the proving year to determine whether they'll resign him before he goes free agent.  And had Favre come back, who knows whether Rodgers would get so pissed he would say enough's enough, i'll ride out the rest of this contract and sign as a starter elsewhere?  Thompson was planning for the future knowing Rodgers is perfectly able to lead the team after 3 years of mentoring under Favre.  People think just because Favre's gone, the team is done.  They're wrong.

  12. Overrated: Vikings. I think the only reason why people pick them to win the Division is because Favre is not longer a Packer and I have to disagree with that. Although they showed comfort in possibly taking the WC last season, I still think the Packers are the best team in the division. The vikes do have a great offense and defense and AD doesn't hurt having on your roster at all, but the Packers still have the better D and offense. They now have the playoff experience and who I believe have the best WR Core in the NFL. Last season, they were #1 in Yards After the Catch and they went by un-talked about. Even though the QB spot is still up in the air, A-Rodg has weapons surrounding him. The team who wins the division will be the team who's QB stepped up the most. I do think both teams will make the playoffs

Underrated: Browns. They were very close to make the post season. Who ever is the starting qb, the browns know they still have a good backup. they made some good moves this off season that added depth to their offense. I won't be shocked if they ended up winning the AFC North just because I think the Steelers have the toughest schedule this season and im not sure how they will stand up to it. We will not early in the season.

  13. Most overrated:  Dallas Cowboys

    Most underrated:  Kansas City Chiefs

Dallas sucks on offense and defense.

Kansas City will win a lot more games than expected.

  14. Over rated: Dallas - great regular season team but can't win in the post season.

Under rated: Washington - most so called "experts" have them finishing last in the NFC East this year. This team made the playoffs last season and an improved offense will mean more wins this season.

  15. Underrated- Packers. Most people don't think they have a chance without Favre, but they're a strong team. And the Chiefs.

    Overrated- The Patriots.

  16. Overrated

NFC-- vikings-- Unproven team whos fans think they will cruise through the playoffs. eagels----Everyyear Qb ges injured and they fall apart.

AFC-- Chargers-- good team, but i just dont think they are SB candiates with Rivers at QB-- Browns-- still have awful defense, and they wont go anywhere until they improve it.

    Underrated--

NFC-- Seahawks-- in their easy divison they have the ability to win 10-12 games. Bears-- Everyone is writing them off, but if they could ever sqaure up QB situtation they still have alot of talent.

AFC-- Jets-- This has nothing to do with Favre, but i think they are going to have a cinderalla type year and make the playoffs, but lose first round.
