Question:

Going on Holiday at aged 16?

Hey,

In 2010 my friends (4of us) are planning to go away to the Canary Islands... Preferabley Lanzarote, Costa Teguise because i have been there about 6 times in my life. Our parents all like the idea and being responsible, but there are not many Airlines that consider the age 16 to be an adult. The only one i can find is Easyjet whichs says when booking a holiday - adult 16+....

Now we really want to go, and in 2010 we will be 16, almost 17; would that be ok to fly?

If yes, could someone recommend some airlines? We would like to be able to book a holiday not just a flight.

Im thinking about the resort Nazaret (in costa teguise) because i have been there alot and its also 2 min walk from the beach, so its not a hotel issue unless they don't allow people under 18 to stay there, its more about the flight and whether we would be allowed?

Please help! Also share you thoughts on the idea too....

  1. send me a message, I work with this whole seller and I'm able to get youth and student fares. hotels want ppl to be 18/21 to checkin

  2. i don't know that's difficult

  3. It is just not the airlines you have got to consider, it is the hotel /appartment you are staying in too.

Most bookings need at leasty one person to be of at least 18 or even 21 when making a group booking.

  4. hiya im 16 nearly 17 and im going on a plane with friends by myself and yea we are going on easy jet too. cheap and easy nd its not bad.

dont listen to other people just go for it im sure u will have a good time and come back safe. you only live once. =)

  5. Not a good idea to go without an adult especially to a foreign country where young girls are preyed upon!

  6. Most airlines say that an adult is 16+ but if you look carefully you will find that a 'child' is up to 16.  You can travel on most airlines at 14+ providing a parent sees you off at the UK airport and signs to say its OK for you to travel.  Our 14 year old grand daughters came out last year to visit us in Spain with no problem

  7. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
