Going on a biology field trip to lake district?

river walking and general field stuff this is my first proper trip out like this with college or even when i was at school so has any ideas of what i should take because i haven't got a clue

  1. Lake District = wet.

    Shoes that you can walk in comfortably and won't get all soaking wet (yeh my converse didn't really keep me dry..) and a coat that'll keep the rain off.

    Umbrella you ask? BAH! if the wind doesn't blow it inside out.

    Best thing for any English weather is layers. You can put things on top of other things so if you're hot or wet you can take off, and when you get too cold you can put them back on again.

    the college should tell you if you need to take anything specific, though. I think.

    the lake district is also gorgeous, so remember your camera and charge up the batteries/take enough film.
