Going on a business trip... can i enroll my child in daycare for only the days i'm going?

I recently got a new job that is full of career advancements, my husband and I are separating, so this is something that needed to be done. which will help me be able to take care of my 1 year old. Catch is that I have to attend the business training located out of state for 4 days. I have my husband to take care of him during the night, however when he goes to work, there will have to be someone to watch my baby. Does anyone know if daycare centers will allow a "temporary" enrollment into their system? It would just be for the 4 days. If i didn't have to go i wouldn't... (rather spend time with my little one) but i know that this will create a better life and is a one time only thing. No one else in the family can watch him during the day. I need to know if day care providers would let me enroll for those 4 days. thank you.

  1. There are drop-in day cares, and there are in-home day cares. If there's an opening, I'm sure they'll work with you. With a drop-in, it's good to go ahead and establish a relationship anyway, you'll probably use them further down the road. It'll probably be expensive, and of course check them out as you would any day care. See if there's a Playtime for Kids in your area. I love, love, love them!

  2. if they do they will charge you extra.

where does he usually go when you are at work?

does your husband have family that can help for a few days?

  3. Look into something called "backup care"  if daycares  in your area provide this. Some provide this for example in home daycares, when that provider needs days off.  You could also check with the HR dept of your new company, if they have any dependent care resources.

At the bottom of that link, is a family resource link.

Also you might be hitting a good time, as lots of families go on vacations now, so daycares would have slots open - their licesnsing will only allow them to watch so many kids at a time.
