  1. I was just on a cruise earlier this month.

I've never been on one in October

but there is a variety of age groups. I've  only been on Carnival, and I know they have clubs for different age groups and stuff.

Either way, you'll enjoy yourself, cruises are amazing :)

  2. Not to worry, you'll have a great time. You can get in touch with other people going on your same cruise. Go to cruisecritic.com and click on boards. Joining is free. Click on Roll Calls. Find your cruise line, then your ship, then your sail date. Bon Voyage!!

  3. I have found that once school starts, the amount of teens goes way down, but every cruise I have been on(8) there has always been some teens or kids. I even took a 29 day cruise and they had about 6 kids on that one too. I am also going on a cruise in October and have been on a cruise before at that time. You will find all ages on a cruise, but not a lot of kids. There are always partiers on a cruise and also quiet folks like me too.

  4. Depends on the line. HAL and Celebrity and generally "grayer" lines with fewer young people. Carnival and Royal generally attact younger foilks.

Also, the shorter the trip, the more 20-ish partiers you're likely to see. It's easier for them to swing the shorter time off from work/school and to afford the cost of the trip.

Along that same line, periods that would correspond to school vacation (or sping/fall/Christmas break) are more likely to attract children and families. Several cruise lines (Costa and MSC, fo sure) periodically run "chilren sail free" promos (but usually not during October). There are generaaly a lot of pre-18 folks if you are on one of those trips.

  5. It depends on which cruise line you are going on, where you are cruising to and how many days the cruise will be.

If you are cruising on Carnival, or maybe Royal Caribbean, there will likely be young people cruising.  If you are doing a short 4 or 5 day cruise there will be more young people.  And, if you are cruising to the Bahamas, Caribbean or Mexico there will be more young people.

If your cruise is 7, 10, or up to 14 days and/or going to the Panama Canal or Europe it will likely have more older people.
