Going on a cruise room is near officers cabin

Question

what does that mean?? who are the officers?? the people on the bridge?

also someone on cruisecritic.com said they got wifi from there cabin (same cabin im staying in) does that mean i get free internet? im not taking my laptop just my ipod touch

The officers are the folks that control the ship.  They are the captain, staff captain, safety officer, security officer, first officer, second officer, third officer, etc.  It's possible that they have their own wireless access point up there. I'd be surprised if it wasn't password protected, but who knows.  Maybe your iPod will be able to connect up!
