Im going to Arizona TOMORROW, and I have no recent ID. Im 16 years old, traveling alone, and Im going as a Non-Rev.

The most recent form of ID I have is from 2005-2006, when I was a freshman living in a different state.

What do I do ;__;?

  1. It is possible to fly without ID. You can be detained for *refusing* to show ID, but if you genuinely do not have any government-issued ID, there are procedures for getting through security. You will probably have to fill out a bunch of paperwork. This article explains one person's experience flying without government-issued ID.

  2. Why don't you just get your ID? Many DMV's will give you an ID the same day, It only took 10 minutes to get mine. Show them your birth certificate, social security card, and any piece of mail that has your name and address on it. Being that your 16 you will need a parent or relative go in with you to verify who you are. It's simple.

  3. The important question is if you've gotten on planes plenty of times with a student ID AFTER 9/11. You're not going to get past the security checkpoints without government-issued ID otherwise. (And, if you did get on after 9/11, I would have lost all faith in TSA.)

  4. you need a government issued id

    bring your passport.
