Question:

Going on holiday, do I take my pram or buy a buggy?

I have a M&P pliko pramette, which is a reasonable size, however I can't decide whether to take this to Spain or buy a buggy. We are already taking one buggy for my eldest but not sure if my 5 month old would be too small and not secure in a buggy. Has anyone taken a pramette type abroad before?

  1. silver cross do the pop buggy really light weight and lays right back sutiable from birth..

  2. take the M&P to spain, just to be sure your baby is safe

  3. Doesn't matter does it? As long as it's compact, I say, and you can close it up and stuff

  4. Why not wear your baby in a lovely supportive sling of some kind (NOT the baby bjorn, which is not good for you or bub)...I don't use a pram, and wear my 12 month old 12kg bub everywhere AND I have lower back issues...with the right sling it doesn't matter.

That way you are so much freer to move around, less to carry and worry about, you can go places prams can't.

I recommend www.snuglittlebug.wordpress.com and www.babywearer.com to get you started. For a 5 month old you might like the Kozy Carrier or Pikkolo.

  5. baby buggies now come from virth so buy a light weight one the baby will be fine and safe and you will  use it again. the pram would be a nightmare ot take i would advice the buggie and they are not that dear  enjoy the hoils

  6. I agree with PP, a baby carrier would be SO much easier and more convenient for you! (But again, not a Bjorn)

I still carry my 14 month old everywhere in a Snugbaby carrier- It makes like so much easier!

  7. I say that if your baby can support his/her head and isn't too much of an escape artist (yet) then buy a cheap buggy and leave your Pramette at home. Just make sure you get one that has a reclining option (even if it only goes back once) because then when your little one falls asleep (hopefully in the evening so that you can enjoy a glass of sangria and the sunset) you can lay him/her back a bit so they are more snug. Also, almost all airlines damage prams and at least if it's a £30 buggy from Mothercare, it doesn't hit the pocket so hard (from experience, the airline hardly EVER fully reimburse you when they damage a pushchair).

    Have a good holiday!

  8. My only advice is that whatever you decide to take bear in mind that it will probable get broken in transit. I have never flown with a buggy without it being damaged.
