  1. Duty Free Allowance / Tax Free Allowance

When travelling from the EU* to the UK you do not have to pay any tax or duty on goods you have bought in another EU country as long as tax was included in the price when you purchased the items, the items are for your own use, and have been transported to the UK by you. This includes gifts, but does not include any item that is intended to be used as payment or to be resold.

If you bring back large quantities of alcohol or tobacco, a Customs Officer is more likely to ask about the purposes for which you hold the goods. This will most likely be the case if you appear at the airport with more than:

    3200 cigarettes

    400 cigarillos

    200 cigars

    3 kg of smoking tobacco

    110 litres of beer

    10 litres of spirits

    90 litres of wine

20 litres of fortified wine i.e.: port or sherry

doesnt matter where you buy them from, but they are often cheapest from the airport in spain as you come back. this is because the EU is all one unit, so buying cheap there affects economy here etc.

if you want to bring more, open the boxes, or split them amoungst mates who mightnt want to bring back, but i use newcastle international loads and never get stoped.

  2. i was there last year bought 600 in benidorm and then another 400 at the airport on the way home in the duty free

  3. IF YOUR ON A NIGHT FLIGHT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT NO ONE IN CUSTOMS GIVES A **** LOL

  4. Benidorm??  You are are a t**t, aren't you?

  5. Ltiggy has given you the correct amounts BUT in March I was stopped by customs and asked to prove that I DIDN'T buy ciggies on my previous trip to Spain. in January (I was held for 3 and a half hours )

As I couldn't prove it  - they took them all off me and told me that I couldn't buy anymore until next October and if I wished to argue and try to get them back, it would cost me £1,500.00 and I would almost definitely loose the case

BTW I didn't even have the full quota - I was one short.

The Tobaccos is where you buy them , keep the receipts - they are always the same price in all the Tobaccos shops but dearer at the Airport itself.

Just don't be greedy and enjoy your holiday.

Pop along to 'Bar Sol' on the far end of Levante beach for good food, ice cold drinks and decent music.
