My family and I are thinking of going to Paris for the first time this summer holiday. We were wondering:

- What is the best way to get to France from London and how should be go about booking it?

- Also where are good places to stay (should be comfortable but not too expensive). Again how do we go about booking (a.k.a in advance?)

Thanks v.much

  1. The best way to get to France from London to me is by plain, go check fares and dates at http://www.klm.com/travel/gb_en/index_de... flights both to Paris Orly and Charles de Gaulles.

As far as good places to stay my advice is a place near the Avenue des Champs Élysées

    http://www.booking.com/city/fr/paris.en....

I loved the first hotel on the link above: L'Adresse, a 3 starts.

Safe site and you can book online. I've used it many times so far. And yes you'd better book in advance. The more, the better. In case you are travelling with kids you may consider booking two nights at L'Elysée Val d'Europe at Disneyland® Resort Paris too, the ninth in this page http://www.booking.com/searchresults.en.... in order to visit Eurodisney Paris. Your kids are gonna love it, and you too. Trust me. I just stayed there with my hubby for a couple of days and it was magical. Have a wonderful summer holiday in Paris. All the best, Sienna =)

  2. Heya

I book all my holidays with Peter Goord Travel look it up on the Internet. I have never had such good service. I would give this travel agents 10 out of 10.

  3. I would recommend you to travel with the train because the trip lasts only 2:20. If you buy tickets two months in advance you can get lower prices.

I just checked on the SNCF web site for September 30th: you can get tickets (for one person, for a single trip) for 66€ (2nd class), 178€ (1st class) or 231€ (2nd class)!!!!!

And if you want to travel today, you must buy these 231€ tickets!!!!

The French train company SNCF changed the ticket prices a few months ago, the cheap tickets are not as cheap as before, and the normal tickets are now really expensive!

I like travelling with the train but due to the pricing I cannot recommend it any longer. However I hope my answer will help you in making your choice.
