I'm going onto pointe this year (probably not until halfway through but still), I was just looking for advice and wondering about any good exercises to help prepare myself and strengthen myself.

I have a theraband.

  1. Pointe?

  2. plie relives, and streghthening your arches and ankles is a must! try to pointe and flex your feet as much as possible! Also while you are sitting down trace out the letters of the alphabet with your feet. Hope it helped! Good luck

  3. When you do your tendus, make sure you articulate through your entire foot and lead with your heel so that you can strengthen your feet and your turn-out. The stronger your turn-out is, the easier balancing and doing other stuff will be.

  4. do a lot of roll ups and forced arches. do alot of bourres too. use the band to strenghten your ankles. dont rush it it will come to you wen you start taking the classes. training en pointe makes your ankles strong also. but u have to have pre pointe work that would generally strengthen your ankles

  5. What I've heard is lots of releves.
