  1. I would start out with some veggiterian rolls - so you kinda know what to expect.  Then if your comfortable move on to some of the raw varieties.  It takes more then one trip to the sushi bar to appriciate it, so don't rush it!

  2. Also try eel.  It's  cooked and one bite... you're hooked. Make sure to also try the miso soup.

  3. maguro (tuna) sashimi

  4. After two bites, the california roll isn't all that great. You can't go wrong with shrimp tempura!

  5. definitely the california roll.

  6. crunchy roll or snowcrab roll or both. Nothing raw in either.

  7. A crunch roll (deep fried Cali roll), a Salmon Nagi (fresh salmon on rice, no roll), Dynamite Roll (W/ deep fried shrimp), and try a Spicy Tuna Roll (fresh tuna and hot sauce with rice and avacado). If they serve Miso soup, ask for a sodium-reduced version (if they offer it) and try that! Ask about Chicken Katsu, most have this too. It's a crispy chicken app.

Just try everything once, the only way you will really know what suits your needs. Everyone has different preferences.

    Enjoy!

  8. ask for a sample of the house roll. Its usually mild enough for a first time sushi eater to enjoy it. Almost every sushi bar has one and they seem to always taste similar

  9. California roll is the best option for you.  If you are feeling a bit adventurous and like a little spice, go for the Spicy Tuna roll.  Enjoy and have fun!!

  10. California rolls all the way

  11. Part of the fun of a sushi bar is getting to order a little at a time instead of everything at once. So I'd start with something safe (that's why everyone suggested calif. roll), or something you know you'll like. Then watch what other people get and see what else you might want to try. (If you have time, of course; a better idea if you're in for a quick lunch is to get a mixed plate with a couple kinds to try.)

Personally, my favorite is yellowtail roll - it's fairly simple, just the fish with green onions.

  12. Try the California Roll and have allot of rice ready on the side.

  13. mmmm... definetely chicken terriyaki sushi =] 5 thumbs up! (if thats possible XD)

  14. Like pretty much everyone has said try the CA sushi roll. Also, the spicy tuna roll is a great starter.

  15. Get the California roll because its very basic and most people who start out with sushi usually like it.  Also try the Maguro (tuna) and Sake (fresh salmon).  They're not fishy and would be a good intro to raw sushi for you.
