Going out in Notting Hill with work colleagues, best place to start the night?

I'm organising a night out with work a week Friday (30th May) and the most convenient place travelwise to visit is Notting Hill. It's going to be about 15 - 20 people attending, a mixture of ages. I dont know the area at all, can anyone recommend a good bar to start? Somewhere quite spacious and upbeat. Afterwards, for those who want to, we're going to a club. Again, suggestions welcome.

Theres a nice place called Notting Hill Arts Club, its not expensive and lots of celebrities go!

I visited their on a recent trip to london and found it a bit of a let down, the bars were massively pretentious and overcrowded (a group of 20 will suffer) and the place has a rather cold feel about it. Hope you enjoy yourselves.
