Going out to dinner on diet?

So I’m on a diet but I’m going out to eat with the my family? What should I get I don’t like salad. Should I get chicken and mash potatoes or steak and mash potatoes or cheese burger and mash potatoes. Or should I go with the sea food and mash potatoes I know to stay away from the bread. I thought the mash potatoes would be better than the French fries. Any suggesting on healthy option on what I should get

  1. steak or chicken is a good choice .. they both have a lot of protien . don't get mash potatos ask for a side of veggies .. if they can't do something like that then yeah mashed potatoes would be the better of the too.  


  2. either chicken or salmon are good, maybe get a  side of veg instead of potatoes.  see if it can be substituted

  3. I think you know this already. Eat whatever you want. If you can avoid carbs, great. If you can't, pace yourself. I see no matter what you think of, it has mashed potatoes. Bad sign. Don't make a pig of yourself, If you just can't skip desert, eat 1/3 or 1/2 of it. Don't take any food home. It's  a big mystery how people get fat isn't it?

  4. This is not a professional answer but over years of experience I have come to a couple of conclusions.  From what i understand potatoes are a big no because of the starches. As for the main dish i believe that a salmon or chicken is a good dinner. Just make sure that the main entree is not covered in sauce, even the most healthy salad can be ruined by too much dressing.  As far as diet i don't think that a diet is a good idea.  From what i have herd from experts and Friends is portion control. Instead of eating the entire entree take half of it home.  Eat less but more frequently. Hope this helps.
