Going separate ways for highschool?

i had a really close friend throughout primary school and now we're in high school.. she rings me once twice a week and sometimes we have heaps of thing to talk about and sometimes we hang up after 15Min's cuz we have nothing to talk about. Whenever we go to the movies we have great fun but now it's sort of awkward because she always talks about people from her high school and i'm thinking why are you telling me this i don't know these people.. and i have no response to what she says because i don't' know the people that she's talking about... and whenever she doesn't talk about her school she talks about songs and i have never heard of them and still i don't know what to say and then it's awkward... but when we do talk about primary school and the people from primary school we have heaps of things to talk about because we went to the same primary school. but now it's getting old because we've covered everything that there is to talk about, about primary school

i had that problem too with some of my friends too but i remember when i had that problem with my ex, i used to just talk about shows and stuff or or movies or dreams but at some point i ran out of things to say so i thought for a while and i finally figured out.

you can always read the newspaper and find something interesting to talk about, if not i would buy one of those teen girly magz lol no g*y sht thou, and after that we never talk less then 2 hrs.

oh if your in nyc, read the daily news because it always have something interesting

I'm not sure what to say as I've met this boy who goes to a different school and when we phone each other we still have stuff to talk about but we just talk about whatever comes into our heads first.. My mum has always told me that you never get your real friends till you finish school because everyone has different life paths and dreams.. However there is always a exception to every rule.. Talk to your friend about how your not comfortable with the fact that she talks about things you dont understand or talk about people from your school and songs that she wont know.. so she finds out how its like Hope i helped Good Luck :) xx
