Going skiing for first time, what to wear?

What are good places to buy a coat and some pants. What kind should I buy?

I'm not going to ski often this is more of a one time thing, but I also don't want to freeze.

So please suggest some outdoor clothing that won't make me look silly.

you don't want to spend alot of money on the highend names afterall you probably arn't gonna wear these much but at the same time you don't want to look and feel out of place with something from sears that will probably rip the first time you fall. well you need a ski bib(its ski pants) and extra pairs of socks(thats a must)...and a ski jacket....try rei or target has ski bibs or eddie Bauer

check goodwill its cheap and you might find something you like ive been snowboardingfor about 2 years now and was skiing for 3 yearsbefore that and alls i wear is a hooded sweatshirt,  but you might wannatry to get a normal jacket

The best thing to wear skiing is ski pants, a good thick winter jacket, really warm thick pair of socks, ski gloves, ski googles and if you want to get a ski helmet. It depend on wear you live i go to Bob Wards or an sport store near you and they would help get you what you need to have.
