Going thor Police Background

Question

I am currently going through backgrounds with a police department in CA. One of the questions on the background packet is if I have ever been accused by a co-worker of being racist....I had been accused of this. THING IS ITS NOT TRUE! My aunt had passed away and when I went into work, I was really quite and she assumed the reason I wasn't speaking was because I found out she was jewish....I explained to her what the case was. I was never disciplined by the employer.....no re-training no write up no nothing....IS THIS DAMAGING TO MY BACKGROUND?

if its not in your file then it won't you the best thing to do is not bring it up cause it could tank your chances of getting the job. it seems like a big misundertanding so on the packet put no cause you werent spoken to about it by your boss.

The question on the application is asking you if any of your employers had complaints about racism on you.  Not if you and another employee talked about this.  So I would answer the question as no.
