I can't wait, one thing I've heard from different people is that it can be crowded and expensive. I am looking to have some fun there, but mainly it is supposed to be a romantic getaway for me and my wife. Going to be there for 4 nights. Only thing I know for sure is that my wife want to visit the zoo in Nassau, and i want to check out the waterpark. Besides that if anyone can recomment some nice romantic resaurants that aren't too expensive (or if there is one that is on expensive side but not to be missed, let me know), maybe an excursion to a quiet beach, and maybe some local type of spots that are worth checking out, ie food/restaurants/fruit stands, site seeing etc.

  1. I was there two weeks ago. It was amazing, expensive but amazing.

My favorite rest. was Mesa Grill on The Cove and Bimini Road on the Marina, I suggest to leave Mesa Grill for a fancy ans special night however Bimini Road is great for party and cocktails and the location is pretty cool too.

I rented a scooter with my husband ( we went there for our honeymoon) and was super cool we went all over paradise island and Nassau, we also went to the straw market for souvenirs. We rented a jet ski too and  swam with the dolphins. The water park is amazing. The Island is beautiful and the people very nice!!!!

I know you will have a lot of fun!!!!

  2. I was just in Nassau about a month ago.  I was only there for a day, and spent most of the time in Nassau (Atlantis is on Paradiso Island - you have to cross a bridge or take a water taxi to get to Nassau from Paradiso).

There is a pricey but nice shopping/eating area right by Atlantis, but if you go to downtown Nassau, you can find the same stores, not as nice, but cheaper.  There is also a lot of great hole-in-the-wall eateries that are very reasonable and very tasty.  Surprisingly there are a lot of Greek places.

The public transportation can get you a lot of places, and there are a few beaches (Sandy Point being one) that are public, but fairly secluded.  There is one 5-star restaurant, but I don't remember the name of it.  It's a pretty big landmark so you shouldn't have a problem finding it (it's a big pink or yellow building near the bridge to Paradiso).

There is also a great public beach just a walk outside of Coral Towers, and it's very pretty.  There is a huge bazaar between the cruise ship docks and the Senior Frogs for some cheap, souvenir shopping.

    Have fun!

Other than that, my only recommendation is DO NOT RENT A SCOOTER!

  3. A lovely dinner to have it at Fathom's.  It's located in the lobby area of the Royal Towers - which is one building over from Coral Towers - the seafood is wonderful.    You also head over to the Cove at dine at Mesa Grill - the food it oustanding, but both are on the costly side.

For a more casual meal - try Bimini Road which is located across the way in Marina Village (this is my personal favorite).  The food is excellent, it's a bit cheaper, and the restaurant has nighttime entertaiment outdoors.  Afterwards, grab a Starbucks and walk down by the Marina and check out all the beautiful yachts.  Its a great place to catch a gorgeous sunset.

A great treat for your wife is to get a massage at one of tents down by the pools at either the Royal Towers or at the pool at the Beach Towers.  Both often have caribbean bands playing - and the sound of the bands along with the sound of the ocean are so relaxing!

For a nice quiet day, spend the day at the beach closest to the Cove portion of the hotel.

When you check in, next to the bellmans desk is a concierge desk.  You can check out all the excursions that are offered and they will take care of your reservations for you.

The weather here is lovely now - enjoy your stay!
