  1. As already stated, it all depends on where you'll be in Australia.

Darwin is in the far north and Hobart is in the far south.

Below you can see the dramatic difference in temperature  between the two.

    Seasonal Weather for Darwin, Australia

    July -

    Average High 29 ºC/85 ºF

    Average Low 21 ºC/69 ºF

    Mean Temperature 25 ºC/77 ºF

    Seasonal Weather for Hobart, Australia

    July -

    Average High 11 ºC/52 ºF

    Average Low 6 ºC/42 ºF

    Mean Temperature 8 ºC/47 ºF

  2. ok well its not summer, and august is bloody cold.

but if your in the top half its pretty nice

  3. That depends which part of Australia you are going to. We have the tropics here so anywhere above the tropic of capricorn all you will need is summer clothing . Down South Sydney melbourne area you will need winter clothes. We have mountains and skiing down South in Winter. If you are to be around Brisbane and the Gold Coast Winters are lovely but the evenings can get quite chilly so a light jacket is required but the days are normally sunny here on the GoldCoast and people still swim in the sea.

  4. Depends on which part of Australia you are going to. If its the southern end then make sure you pack very warm things, and if its the northern end you will still need a Jacket in the mornings and evenings when its very cold along with some long legged pants

  5. I'll sum it up.Think California in the winter,Some places are cold and some warm, but it will never ever get as cold as the mid west USA.It only snows here on some mountains and if it does snow anywhere else and this is extremely rare,it does not lay as it is not cold enough.Bring some warm stuff, but don't go over board. If you need extra ,buy it here,we are not the third world.Save room in your bag to take stuff home.

Have fun as we really like Americans here.
