Going to Big Sur 8/8/08...Should I cancel?

Spending our anniversary in big sur in early August. We want to spend the days outside hiking,etc but are worried about the air quality. Does anyone know how smoky it is at this point?

Its not bad at all right now.  It changes with the weather.  It will probably be great by the time you arrive.  There are also tons of other places near there to go such as Hearst Castle just to the south, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz
