  1. It depends on what you want, Buzios is close to Rio. Florianopolis is in Santa Catarina.

I have never been there but both seems great options, as I know.

  2. I'm biased, since I grew up going to the "Green Coast" region every summer ... this is the region where Buzios (and many other small towns) is. If you decide for Buzios, I strongly recommend "Arraial do Cabo" and "Cabo Frio".

I also strongly recommend "Paraty", which is further to the south of the State of Rio's coast. It's a preserved 18th Century town, with amazing beaches nearby (like "Trindade").

I have never been in Florianópolis, but it is widelly known it is great as well.

  3. Been to Buzios and I highly recommend it. However, the coast of Santa Catarina (where Floripa is - short of Florianopolis) is breathtaking. You can go to Buzios anytime, but try Santa Catarina and its wonderful beaches. Why dont you check trip advisor (www.tripadvisor.com) for info and pictures of both places?

  4. I think you should go south and visit Florianopolis in the state of Santa Catarina, the whole coast is beautiful, the city is very clean and orgnized including the beaches. Floripa has several amazing beaches, you also can find a lot of cool things to do there, the city has a great infrastructure...it's one of my favorites.
