Going to Bulgaria, Sunny Beach?

Hey guys, pretty soon (Augest) I'm going to Sunny Beach with the family for a couple of weeks. Just wanted some pre-excitement as to what I can expect.

What are the prices of most items in lev? ie, how much would the liqour store charge for a litre of local produced vodka?

I hear alot about prositution, how bad is it? - are there many in the Sunny Beach area or just Golden Sands, are they out at day-time and how much do they charge?

Any good places, I mean like restaurants or shops that are good and cheap you have the name of, I'll keep an eye open for them.

Anything I can expect when there or should check out, lemmie know. Any photos would be nice too (imageshack.us 'em)

Thanks guys.

Completely biased opinion - the best Vodka on the planet is not Russian, it's not Polish and it most certainly ain't Bulgrian.  No.  The best vodka anywhere is made right here in UK - SMIRNOV - the family [White Russians] arrived sometime during the Russian revolution and set up their booze factory right here - the rest is history.

  4. Bulgaria is a nice place. The food is a little weird sometimes, but you get used it.

Locally produced vodka is very very cheap is i remember rightly.

Everything in Bulgaria is relatively good value, and a lot cheaper than other places I have been on holiday.

Also, never even knew there was a problem with prositution, so i'm guessing its not so bad. Also, was the bit about how do they charge a joke..? If so, haha, if not.. Then sorry to say, i'm really not sure :P

  5. Prostitution is bad in Bulgaria, don't expect the entertainment to be like Spain, there is a few bars etc but the evening entertainment is having you meal with either an orchestra or Bulgarian dancer in the background, when I was there several years ago there was only 1 shop in Sunny Beach which was a duty free shop and you could only use English money, if a Bulgarian asks you to exchange your money do not talk to them as exchanging money is a criminal offence. Golden sands has a few more shops but not many. Food is not very good, everything was Veal of various kinds
