  1. Cadiz is a lovely city, and the people (all over Spain, but expecially in Andalucía) are really great!  Warm and friendly, open and interested in others.

I know that inflation has hit Spain pretty hard, so it might be expensive to live/rent.  Jobs?  work visas are difficult to get for non EU citizens, so, your best bet may be to get a temporary job through one of the American work exchange programs.  Just search Work Abroad Exchange Programs, and you'll find a ton.  check them all until you find a few that suit you.

  2. Cadiz is the best place on Earth... to be on holidays.

The area has one of the highest unemployment rate in Spain so it is not a rich area. You can find an apartment to rent from 450 euros. If you are looking for a room in a shared flat, you can find from 150 euros. Prices are average and going out is not expensive compared to Madrid or northern Spain.

Despite the unemployment rate, you'll find a job if don't mind to work as a waiter in a pub (Puerto de Santa Maria, for example).

You'll love the weather, the area and the people.
